Fortification

When the Kingdom of Embervale still stood as one, we were beyond harm. The old walls were impenetrable during Queen Pikemead's reign. Now, they crumble. Every watch, I see the smoke come closer... the mistral weighs heavily with a pungent sweetness. Rot and decay... they'll tear through the rampart soon enough. Even the Mining Rift due east cannot yield enough stone to restore the imperial aegis afore the brewing siege.
