A Glimpse Of Eternity

I have been seeking the secret of eternity for decades now. Each spell I craft, I test upon the restless bones that linger in the shadows. Mindless creatures — yet obedient to my will — serve as my apprentices in this quest. And yet... My promise of everlasting life eludes me. I leave them where they fall, discarded, silent witness to my genius, or at least my attempts. It doesn't matter, there are more tombs to explore. With each chamber I edge closer to perfection. The failures are merely stepping stones. I will not cease, for eternity the ruin of all else is worth. For my next experiment, I’ve heard whispers of a tomb hidden among thick groves of banana plants. From the water, I shall cross Gateway Outpost "Darkwater" and venture into the jungle to seek it out.

The Undying Flame... I thought I was onto something here, but all it does is reduce creatures to ash and bones. Eternity in the afterlife, perhaps, but hardly what I intended. Adjacent to the large lake with the tower lies Goldrock Saddle, just east of which another tomb should be hidden, the earth arching over it.

I can't believe it! I have created a healing spell — finally! But... it heals others?! Can you believe it? What am I supposed to do with this? What good is it to me if others live longer? .. but at least I am on the right track. The next tomb awaits. I've heard stories of young folk daring to race through it, braving its challenges. Whoever makes it to the other side… well, they live. Its supposed to be close to the Mining Rift towards the Blackmire.

Uff… this one put up a fight. Fast as lightning, we raced through the catacombs. To honor him, I set up a grave right where he drew his last breath… And now… a Lightning Spell?! I thought I was close. I’m growing tired of this. I believe there is only one last tomb left, near Stillwater Bay towards the foot of the hills...

Hmm… maybe if I cast this spell on myself long enough, I can shock-freeze my body — and then thaw whenever I wish. That way, I could extend my life… right? Right?! I’ve done it! I made it!
