A Knock At Night

I am restless. A nightly groan from behind the walls strains my ears. A rattle, grinding and dull. A whimper from a throat dry as the Kindlewastes sands. A hollow knock on my skull... attached to my spine and shaking my core with every vibration. I cannot bear it. I've brought timber and nails. Whatever it is... it will not enter.
